A Closer Look at the Golden Rule
A popular saying is “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. From the Bible( KJV), Jesus is quoted as saying, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.”
While on the surface, this sounds like solid advice, I believe its intrinsic flaw in logic has been the cause of much suffering through the ages. The problem is not everyone else wants to be treated the way you want to be treated.

The Traditional Victim
A person I know was upset today because their supervisor at their job was disciplining them on their performance. They were angry. They felt they were being wronged. They could not understand why they were being picked on. They repeatedly shifted the blame for their misfortunes onto their supervisor. I listened patiently, as one who really has no influence in such a situation can.
